Maria Helena Vieira da Silva opens in Paris
“I look at the street and at people walking on foot with different appearances
advancing at different speeds. I think of the invisible threads which manipulate them... I try and see the machinery which organises them. I think this is in a way what I attempt to paint.”
Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, a new solo exhibition of the Portuguese-born painter, has opened at the Marais space of Jeanne Bucher Jaeger, Paris, running until 16 November 2019.
The exhibition will travel to London to open at our space on Cork Street on 30 November, before being taken to New York to show at Di Donna Galleries in 2020.
This is a a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the three international galleries.
