Waddington Custot lends major work to Peggy Guggenheim Collection
Waddington Custot is pleased to collaborate with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection on the exhibition ‘Maria Helena Vieira da Silva. Anatomy of Space’, lending the painting ‘La ville tentaculaire’ (1954) from the gallery’s collection.
The exhibition explores Vieira da Silva’s practice from the 1930s to the late 1980s, focusing on her engagement with urban architectural landscapes and the roles of memory and play in her work. It highlights both formal references to Portuguese visual culture and influences from avant-garde movements such as Cubism and Futurism.
The exhibition is currently on view at the Pegga Guggenheum Collection in Venice, running until 15 Septemeber Collection in Venice and will travel to the Guggenheim Bilboa in the autumn.
