Alice Anderson at Atelier Calder
Alice Anderson was selected for the coveted Atelier Calder artist residency for 2019 and is currently creating new performative works in Calder’s home and studio in the Saché, a small town south-west of Tours in the Indre-et-Loire.
Established thirty years ago in 1989, Atelier Calder has the oldest residency program of its kind in France, and offers international artists the opportunity to create new, ambitious work in this unique environment which was designed by Calder in his lifetime. Alice Anderson is producing an exciting body of work in response to the architectural data of the building’s structure.
Previous artists who have benefitted from the residency over the past three decades include performance artists such as Marina Abramovic and Sarah Sze, and other internationally recognised artists including Ernesto Neto, Tomás Saraceno and Jaume Plensa.
