An exhibition dedicated to Botero is coming to Bologna

Palazzo Pallavicini in Bologna are opening a new exhibition dedicated to the Colombian artist Fernando Botero from 12 October 2019–26 January 2020. Curated by Francesca Bogliolo in direct collaboration with the artist, the exhibition will present fifty unique drawings and paintings, among them a number which will be coming to Bologna for the first time. 

Divided into seven sections, the exhibition will explore important themes within the artist's work, such as bullfighting and the circus, still lifes, nudes and characters drawn from the religious world. It will expose the ways in which Botero's work brings together influences from Italian classicism and South American culture through a figurative and personal style.
