Natalie Rudd will introduce 'Making It: Women and Abstract Sculpture', and share more about the context in which these artists were working. Her recent exhibition Breaking the Mould, the first extensive survey of post-war British sculpture by women in a public institution, recently showed at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and is now on view at the Djanogly Gallery in Nottingham.
Included in Making It: Women and Abstract Sculpture are works by nine artists who came to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s: Olga de Amaral, Lynda Benglis, Françoise Grossen, Maren Hassinger, Barbara Levittoux-Świderska, Louise Nevelson, Beverly Pepper, Mildred Thompson and Sophia Vari.
