Our artists at Yorkshire Sculpture Park

David Annesley, Sophia Vari and Barry Flanagan

Installed at Yorkshire Sculpture Park at the end of 2024, ‘Mandala Eighty’, 2003, by British sculptor David Annesley can now be found in YSP's Lower Park, overlooking the lake near to David Nash's Black Mound and 49 Square sculptures in the landscape. It is joined by two monumental sculptures by Greek-Hungarian sculptor Sophia Vari: ‘Le Roi’ and ‘La Reine’, both 2000 two sculptures twinned together in the Lower Park, near to Bretton Hall.

Nearby, the magestic ‘Large Nijinski on Anvil Point’, 2001 by Barry Flanagan, towering at over 7 metres tall has returned to YSP – the sculpture was last on display there in 2009. Last publicly displayed in London's prestigious Berkeley Square, the work has found a new home in the winter landscape of the sculpture park.
